Wow! It was a scorcher this weekend! Despite the heat, Brandon and I still had a great art weekend at the Town Art Show! We had the opportunity to meet and talk with lots of art lovers and fellow artists. It was also nice to see several familiar faces from last year’s event!
Friday – Brandon & I arrived in Leawood safely and got our booth setup in quick fashion. We are starting to become pretty efficient at setup, like a well-oiled machine. I took a short break from the action at the art fair that evening to visit the home of Karen in Leawood. She is commissioning a 3-panel series to hang in the North windows of her family room. I am excited to start working on the sketches!
Saturday – It was a long, hot day with very little breeze, but it didn’t really seem to affect the crowd. There were lots of visitor’s to my booth, and Brandon passed out lots of business cards.
Sunday – On the last day of the show, Sally from Leawood purchased Bloom 1 and Flower Garden. She is also going to pull together some color samples for me to do a commission piece for her bedroom.
Our booth neighbors this year were awesome! Both glass artist Laurie Mellenbruch and photographer Paul Bonnichsen, local Kansas City artists with lots of experience showing their artwork at fairs, offered lots of great tips and insights to the art fair process.
