Brandon and I are officially in real estate mode.

Our house has been on the market for about two weeks now, and has been showing nicely. We’ve had a half dozen different people/couples come through so far, but no offers yet. And since our house is officially listed, Brandon and I have gone driving a couple of nights, scouting houses for sale and the neighborhoods they’re located in. It’s really been helpful since we’re still relatively new to town (arrived in 2001) and don’t know many of the neighborhoods we’re looking at.

We’ve also spent some time looking at schooling options for our future children and weighing the pros and cons of each. I’m about 80% positive we’ll buy a house in the Topeka High school system. Both Brandon and I like the idea of raising our family in such a diverse and culturally rich area.

This weekend we are are taking the next step in our search – we’re going to 4 open houses! I’m excited to finally start going into places – I’ve been internet browsing for months. I’m ready to start seeing some of these interiors in person.
